Each week on the BBC a “global thinker from the worlds of philosophy, science, psychology or the arts is given a minute to put forward a radical, inspiring or controversial idea.” This week’s idea comes from the science fiction writer Elizabeth Moon. Tactics of the Crescent Moon: Militant Muslim Combat Methods $4.89 During the Iraq War, this book was required reading aboard Fort Benning, Fort Leavenworth, and some Marine bases. Its “modern” sequel travels mostly by truck and fights mostly with supporting arms. That’s becau… |
