When the ‘Glenn Beck’ show will end
Fox has had “Glenn Beck” going on weekdays at 5 p.m. This has been ever since 2009. The amount of extremists in the country is proven by the belief that Beck got 2.2 million viewers each day nevertheless on his program. This was despite the drop in ratings in the last year. Critics condemn the self-proclaimed “rodeo clown” for his apocalyptic conspiracy theories, several of them involving Hungarian-American financier Soros.
The trouble Beck faces
As the Fox News Glenn Beck program is ending, several rumors have started. Many speculate as to what occurred. Beck’s influence has been publicly recognized by Fox New President Roger Ailes who supposedly called for the order to cancel the show though because he privately is angry about this, according to Business Insider. When Ailes claims, "I look forward to continuing to work with him," he really means to say "don't let the door hit you on the way out." Some suggest Beck is to blame. There were lots of comments he made against Soros. This got the Jewish Anti-Defamation League really upset. The Christian Science Monitor states that Beck also turned away individuals because of comments he made. The “Obama is a socialist” and “Obama is a racist” comments made several mad, which Fox News may not even know.
How Fox plans on controlling many
There is a lot of controversy with Fox News doing this. Nevertheless, Fox News has not gotten Beck out of the program effortlessly. The loss in advertising could be used. This can be Roger Ailes’ excuse. Beck does not have as many advertisers. The Fox News program has lost more than 1 million viewers over the past year, going from an average of 2.9 million in January 2010 to 1.8 million in January 2011, reports the Christian Science Monitor. New York and Philadelphia no longer air Glenn Beck's Mercury Radio program, and big-time advertisers like Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola and Walmart have abandoned the Beck Fox News show. It was probably hard to lose so much advertising.
