Islam origination and founder?

where exactly did islam originate and who is the person that started islam?
this is for a hs report and by the way.. you all are giving me different answers , which is very frustrating
i don’t know who’s right or wrong
i’m a teen muslim, but not an expert on my religion. it would be better if i just had the facts , which i’m suppose to use.i’m confused between whats religiously believed and what historians discovered.

Most Muslims will say that Islam was around since the time of the first humans – Adam and Eve (or Adam and Hawwa if you want the Arabic ;) )

But over time it’s said that Islam in its pure form was forgotten, and a string of Prophets (including Moses and Jesus) were sent to correct people. This wasn’t working out so finally God chose a man called Muhammed to receive the clearest message to date (the Quran). And God said “Okay! That’s it, no more… that’s the last message you guys get!” so Muhammad is known as the last prophet or the “seal of the prophets”.

-that’s according to Muslims.

An academic will tell you that Islam simply began with Muhammad, and was a continuation of Judeo-Christian religion.

Both will agree that that happened near Mecca (in Arabia) in the year 610 CE.

Just keep in mind that there are two fundamentally different points of view (academic and religious) as you do your research. It’ll be less confusing.

Hey and good luck on your report
