so many misconceptions. 1) maybe because they actually love each other? just a thought. OR maybe it was arranged as in not forced but more like the family suggests a man for her, a woman is not allowed to be forced into marriage. or she is a trophy wife that happens in all religions (trophy wifes). 2) the katb il kitab, where you are married in the eyes of god is held in the mosque, you have two witnesses from each side of the family and are married by the imam (preacher). the marriage reception itself can be held in a mosque or wherever. you can wear whatever the hell you want to wear at a wedding, depending on if you are veiled or not. 3) this is the process in islam, the whole idea of dating is to find someone you are compatible with, therefore you ONLY get into a relationship if you think it will become something serious. when both are mutually infatuated, they meet each others familes and the families agree they can see each other, of course it is never a one on one date, because being alone can lead to impure actions in some cases. they are then dating, after a good period of this the two may break it of or may move on to engagement. they man asks the family for the womans hand they may move in together but are not to fornicate, they are free to do what a married couple may do except for this. then when the wedding day comes they join in holy matrimony and live just as any other married couple.
