Why is apostasy ≠ Islam?

I ❤ some Muslims & apostates I ✖ Islam Islam = 卐 Islam = war, terrorism & oppression Apostasy = peace & freedom from intimidation Islam = slavery & extreme obedience Apostasy = freedom & free will Islam = lifetime misery Apostasy = happiness Islam ≠ freedom to think your own thoughts Islam = heavy brainwashing Apostasy ≠ brainwashing? Islam ≠ introspection Apostasy = freedom to examine your conscience Islam ≠ freedom of life choices Apostasy = democracy I ❤ apostasy I ✖ Islam

I wonder what your question is... Apostasy probably the worst thing a Muslim can do and in some countries it is punishable by death. In other countries the families will think that their honor is being insulted and they will try to kill the apostate. Honor killings even happen in the U.S. once in a while... Just 2 examples out of the Qur'an and the Hadith: Don't become friends until they become Muslims. If they turn back to their old ways (also back to the enmity), then kill them... pretty clear it seems... Qur'an 4:89 - They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them. Bukhari; Book 9; Volume 83; Hadith 37 Once 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Aziz sat on his throne in the courtyard of his house so that the people might gather before him. Then he admitted them and (when they came in), he said, "What do you think of Al-Qasama?" They said, "We say that it is lawful to depend on Al-Qasama in Qisas, as the previous Muslim Caliphs carried out Qisas depending on it." Then he said to me, "O Abu Qilaba! What do you say about it?" He let me appear before the people and I said, "O Chief of the Believers! You have the chiefs of the army staff and the nobles of the Arabs. If fifty of them testified that a married man had committed illegal sexual intercourse in Damascus but they had not seen him (doing so), would you stone him?" He said, "No." I said, "If fifty of them testified that a man had committed theft in Hums, would you cut off his hand though they did not see him?" He replied, "No." I said, "By Allah, Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate." Then the people said, "Didn't Anas bin Malik narrate that Allah's Apostle cut off the hands of the thieves, branded their eyes and then, threw them in the sun?" I said, "I shall tell you the narration of Anas. Anas said: "Eight persons from the tribe of 'Ukl came to Allah's Apostle and gave the Pledge of allegiance for Islam (became Muslim). The climate of the place (Medina) did not suit them, so they became sick and complained about that to Allah's Apostle. He said (to them ), "Won't you go out with the shepherd of our camels and drink of the camels' milk and urine (as medicine)?" They said, "Yes." So they went out and drank the camels' milk and urine, and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of Allah's Apostle and took away all the camels. This news reached Allah's Apostle , so he sent (men) to follow their traces and they were captured and brought (to the Prophet). He then ordered to cut their hands and feet, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, and then he threw them in the sun till they died." I said, "What can be worse than what those people did? They deserted Islam, committed murder and theft."

Charlie Wilson’s War (Widescreen Edition)

$1.85

Political movies about backroom negotiations need not be dry or heavy-handed, as Charlie Wilson’s War delightfully proves. Based on the true story of playboy congressman Wilson’s efforts to fund Afghanistan’s defense against the Soviet invasion of the 1980s, the film is borne along on breezy attitude and a peppery script by West Wing scribe Aaron Sorkin. Wilson, played by Tom Hanks (who also prod…

The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As Told to Alex Haley

The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As Told to Alex Haley

$4.58

Malcolm X’s searing memoir belongs on the small shelf of great autobiographies. The reasons are many: the blistering honesty with which he recounts his transformation from a bitter, self-destructive petty criminal into an articulate political activist, the continued relevance of his militant analysis of white racism, and his emphasis on self-respect and self-help for African Americans. And there’s…

The Fire Next Time

It’s shocking how little has changed between the races in this country since 1963, when James Baldwin published this coolly impassioned plea to “end the racial nightmare.” The Fire Next Time–even the title is beautiful, resonant, and incendiary. “Do I really want to be integrated into a burning house?” Baldwin demands, flicking aside the central race issue of his day and calling instead for…

Just after being elected, Obama declared that building bridges with the Islamic world would be a high priority of his administration.
